Aims and Objectives
The main objectives of the association are:
- To provide support, assistance and information to our Members, their families and their friends, both pre and post cardiothoracic transplantation.
- To provide and maintain initiatives that
further the cause of Organ Donor
Awareness, and to actively support such initiatives by the larger transplant community. - To provide support and assistance to the
Director of the National Transplant
Programme, the National Heart and Lung
Transplant unit, and all the staff within the
transplant programme by funding equipment,
training and research.
Some of our lesser but nonetheless important objectives include:
- To encourage exercise by promoting a healthy lifestyle and participating in the European Heart and Lung Transplant Games.
- To raise funds for the charitable purposes of the Association.
- To encourage, seek, and, where possible, establish better facilities and conditions for all aspects of cardiothoracic transplantation.
- To participate in the affairs of the European Heart & Lung Transplant Federation.
- To use any gifts and payments received to help further the objectives of the Association.
Funding
