IHLTA Aims and Objectives
Our Association aims to provide support, help and information to all heart transplant recipients and their families, pre and post operation.
We aim to identify and maintain donor awareness initiatives and to work with the Irish Donor Network in promoting and improving all areas of organ donation and transplantation.
We provide and furnish help and support to the Director of Transplant Surgery at the Mater Misercordiae University Hospital, and to the National Heart and Lung Transplant Unit. and all the staff within the transplant programme by funding equipment, training and research.
Other important objectives include:
To encourage exercise by promoting a healthy lifestyle and participating in the European Heart and Lung Transplant Games.
